President – Maylee Bossy

Maylee is from Chatham, Ontario and is attending Carleton as a fourth-year Public Affairs and Policy Management student with a specialization in Human Rights and a minor in Law. In addition to her role as President of the Carleton Political Science Society, she works as a Junior Policy Analyst at Public Services and Procurement Canada. She is an avid reader, amateur poet, mother of cats and fierce advocate for cheese. If you see her on campus or at CPSS events, she always enjoys speaking with new people (especially exchange students!) so don’t be afraid to say hello.

Vice President – Jenny Giang

Jenny is a fourth-year Political science major with a concentration in International Relations and a minor in Communications and Media Studies. Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, she knew Carleton University was the place to be to study political theory. She is a political philosophy nerd with a passion for sports and loves coffee, writing, and pasta. She is very excited to be on the executive team again and loves meeting new people. She is most likely to be spotted in the Starbucks line on campus, feel free to ask about CPSS and any upcoming CPSS events, or to even say hi!

Director of Academic Affairs – Cameron Wales

Cameron is a student of Public Affairs and Policy Management at Carleton University. An avid private pilot and glider instructor, he started flying with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets at age 16. His interests include theatre, improv, and music. Cameron got involved with the Liberal Party at age 18 after a life-long love of politics and policy. He can often be found engaged in hearty political discourse with friends.

Directors of Communications – Claudia Wilson

Claudia is a third-year Political Science major, specializing in Canadian Politics and minoring in Communications and Media Studies. She was born and raised in Ajax, Ontario before moving to Ottawa to study at Carleton. In terms of politics, Claudia is interested in Canadian federal politics, gender equality, Indigenous rights and LGBTQ2 issues.
Claudia is looking forward to the upcoming school year working as your Director of Communications and planning an exciting 2017-2018 for all!

Directors of Logistics – Mark Pelayo 

Mark is from Toronto and currently a fourth-year student studying communications and media studies and political science. Prior to joining the executive of the Political Science Society, he has worked at the Rideau River Residence Association, Immigration and Refugee Board, Social Science Humanities Research Council and has interned at the House of Commons. Mark is excited to take on the role of Directors of Logistics this year. He can’t wait to meet you guys and if you ever see him around, feel free to say hi or talk to him about any concerns/suggestions that you might have.

Director of Internal Affairs – Oleksandr Shvet

Oleksandr is an international student from Ukraine, who studies political science at Carleton. He started his career at CPSS as a first year representative and now serves the society as a director of internal affairs. At Carleton, Oleksandr takes part in both partisan and non-partisan events.
His interests include politics, linguistics, geography, philosophy, film, improv, music, kickboxing, painting, tennis and hiking.

Director of Finance – Emmett Bisbee

Emmett is excited to take on the role of Director of Finance for the 2017-18 year. He is in his third year of Carleton’s Public Affairs and Policy Management program, and is from Innisfil, Ontario. He encourages any CPSS members to reach out to him should they have any questions about the financial well-being of the society.
